Contest and Rules Description of Contest
There is Hope Magazine is a new biannual magazine which is premiering in December, 2012.
This magazine will feature articles of how everyday people are overcoming obstacles and achieving personal victories in their
lives. The content of the magazine will be derived directly from submitted entries in the There is Hope Magazine Writing Contest.
This magazine is published by Heart of God Publishing located in Baltimore, MD.
Who Can Enter
The contest is open to all authors of any age that are residents/citizens
of the United States (and its territories and possessions). Children under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian's signature
to enter.
Quality of Entries
All
entries must be original work.
All entries must be NON-FICTION and include 2 references of people, different from the
author, who can verify the truth of the story.
All entries must be written in English with proper grammar.
An entry
must not infringe or violate any law or the legal or equitable right of any person or entity, nor contain material that infringes
or violates any personal property rights of others or that constitutes defamation, invasion of privacy, an infringement of
the intellectual property rights of any third person, or is otherwise unlawful.
All entries must be unpublished in print
and/or electronically including books, magazines, newspapers, on-line articles, blogs etc.
All entries must be typed,
double spaced in Times New Romans, Arial or Book Antiqua font.
All entries should be clipped or stapled. Please do not
enclose entries in folders or binders.
Include the title and author of each entry at the top of each submitted page.
Pictures may be included with each entry. Pictures are non-returnable.
Types and Length of Entries
Stories - Entries should be between 200 and 750 words.
Poems - Entries should be between 1 and 5 stanzas.
Jokes/Humor/Original Insipirational Quotes - Entries should be less
than 50 words.
Deadlines
Contest for
the June 2012 publication begins on November 1, 2011 at 00:01 EST and ends March 1, 2012 at 23:59EST.
All entries submitted for the March deadline will be held for the September
deadline due to receiving less than 200 entries.
Contest for the December 2012 publication begins
on March 2, 2012 at 00:01 EST and ends September 1, 2012 at 23:59EST.
NOTE: ENTRIES ARE READ ON
AN ONGOING BASIS.
SOME ARTICLES WILL BE CHOSEN FOR PUBLICATION PRIOR TO DEADLINE.
HOWEVER, ALL NOTIFICATIONS WILL
TAKE PLACE AFTER THE CONTEST HAS ENDED.
Categories
Each entry should be submitted under one of the following categories. Authors may submit as many entries in
as many categories as they wish.
Politics/Government - stories of accomplishment for the good within politics/government
Education - stories of overcoming academic challenges
Military - stories of overcoming challenges during/following
military service
Health - includes overcoming challenges with nutrition, weight loss, medical problems, addictions etc.
Religious/Spiritual - stories of overcoming driven by faith in God
Children - stories about children overcoming challenges/stories
written by children <18 years old
Emotional/Psychological - stories of overcoming mental health issues
Marriage/Relationships
- stories of overcoming negative situations/environments/issues
Job/Careers - stories of acheiving success against many
obstacles
Other
Awards
A minimum
of 25 authors will be awarded and published in the There is Hope magazine.
The author of the cover story will receive
$500, a photo shoot and 5 free copies of the magazine.
All other awarded authors will receive $100 and 1 free copy of
the magazine.
Only one submission will be chosen from the same author.
All awarded authors will receive payment
during the month of the magazine's publication.
A list of awarded authors will be available on-line at the Heart of God
Publishing website.
Notifications
All
authors will be notified by e-mail only that complete submissions have been received.
Awarded authors will be notified
by postal mail that their submissions have been chosen. Awarded authors must sign and return a publishing contract, and any
other necessary documents, by the stated deadline to receive their award. If no publishing contract is received, the chosen
author will not be awarded and submission will not be included in the publication of the There is Hope magazine.
Entry Fees
An entry fee of $5 must accomplish each
submission.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Entry fees may be submitted by PayPal by clicking the Add to Cart
Button at the bottom of the page. Be sure to note with your payment the title and category of each submission.
An e-mail will be sent to confirm when we have matched your entry fee and submission.

How to Submit
Complete the Official
Entry Form below and submit. After submitting form:
1. Submit entries
on-line, as an attachment in Microsoft Word or Adobe pdf format only (Do not submit entry in the body of the e-mail), by sending
to info@heartofgodpublishing.com. Include in the subject line the author's name and title of entry. Send payment via PayPal to the e-mail address by clicking
the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the page. A confirmation e-mail will be sent when the entry fee, writing entry and
official entry form are received for the same submission. OR
2. Mail entry to Heart of God Publishing, Re: There is Hope Magazine Writing Contest, P.O. Box
66297, Baltimore, MD 21239. A mailed entry fee must be in the form of cash, cashier's check or money order. Make checks and
money orders payable to Heart of God Publishing LLC. No personal checks will be accepted.
a. Send only one copy of each entry.
b. Securely fasten all entries. Do not fasten payments to the entry.

General Guidelines
Entries not
conforming to contest rules will not be considered for publishing in the There is Hope Magazine.
If less than
200 entries are received for the current deadline, all entries will be entered into the contest for the next deadline. Entrants
will be notified by e-mail if this occurs.
No entries will be returned.
A submitted entry may be considered for any of Heart of God Publishing LLC's publications outside
of the contest. No submission, from the contest or otherwise, will be published without a signed publishing contract between
the author and Heart of God Publishing LLC.
Contest rules may change without notification.

Publishing LLC does not release or sell customer or contest entrant information to third parties or mailing lists, nor will
you receive telephone solicitations, whatsoever. We will occasionally send mailing news about our upcoming publications and
contest.
